Dario is a native of beautiful Tucson, Arizona who showed his natural talent for entertaining at the age of three by singing and dancing for his family. He competed in numerous local competitions and talent shows where he frequently and easily placed first. His first big break came at the "Search for Stardom" convention, where his dynamic stage presence and distinctive vocals caught the attention of two independent record companies. Dario was invited to audition for their labels and the rest is history.

 

Dario has participated in top-rated network competition shows, including The WB's "Popstars 2," and Fox Network's wildly successful "American Idol." His solid reputation as a force in the entertainment industry has been recognized by the media in more than 40 entertainment magazine covers, multitudes of TV appearances and red-carpet events such as the Grammy Awards and the American Music Awards.

 

Dario's first single, "Be!" debuted at No. 1 on the Independent Sales Chart in April 2004. The follow-up single, "Lies!" shot up the Independent Sales Chart and stayed there for six weeks, and held a solid spot on the Dance Chart for four months. Dario has opened for Destiny's Child and Ashanti and recently wrapped up the first leg of his national five-month tour to promote his album, The Up Side of Down, which was released to rave reviews in May, 2011.

 

Never one to rest on past achievements, Dario is dedicated to giving back to the community. He works with foundations that educate, research and fight for the cure of AIDS/HIV, breast cancer and sickle cell anemia. He is also a passionate mentor to children and young adults in local communities to help them envision their dreams and work to make them come true.

 

When asked in a recent interview what he feels is the secret to his success, Dario answered: "Hard work, the support of my friends and family, and of course, the loyalty of my amazing fans! But really, there is no secret. For me, success has always been the only option."
